
Hey there friend,
As I write to you today from the front porch, I am wrapped up in a quilt. Riggs, our dog, is sprawled out on the buffalo plaid rug. And Blizzard, our cat, is perched at the bottom of our screen door. The cool breeze carries the echos of the mourning doves while the air is filled with smaller chatter. It is distracting and relaxing all at the same time.
Having hurried through many mornings before returning to the country, I no longer feel guilty for taking time to notice and enjoy these simple moments. I don’t know about you, but in big seasons like beginning a career, nurturing relationships, and starting a family, small moments can easily be pushed down and go unnoticed. But don’t you think that is the nature of those seasons? And if we didn’t experience the busy seasons, how could we ever truly appreciate these simple moments?
With your schedule likely written out for this week, I invite you to find a few times to revel in the simple that presents itself to you.
