Tech Detox Challenge

Hey there, friend!

When is the last time you walked away from your phone for a day? Okay, if that is too extreme, how about a couple of hours? With the holidays here I have a challenge that I think is going to make you nervous to do at first but will appreciate once you try it!

I am challenging you to a tech detox.

Yes, I know the holidays are here and there are Black Friday sales, Cyber Monday sales, and emails with the best deals filling your inbox at record speed. But guess what. Everything that is in your inbox can wait. I mean we all know the deals get better when it gets closer to Christmas anyways-see a good reason why you can do this challenge.

Maybe you are more of a fact and numbers person. Let me shine a little light on how much time we are spending on our devices.

Did you know that on average we touch our phones 2,617 times in a day and the average person is spending 4.8 hours a day on their phone? My fingers and my eyes hurt just reading that! You?

Here is a quick list of why a tech detox can be beneficial.

  • Ease anxiety, increase happiness, reduce multitasking, reduce technology cravings, and allow you to connect more with the people in your life.
  • To find out if technology is holding you back from living your best life.
  • To be more productive at work and deepen your relationships with family and friends.
  • To focus on real-life social interactions without distractions. (Read more from Spike Blog here.)

I invite you this week to consider ways in which you can take a break from technology and look up a bit more through the holiday season.

Cheers to making YOU a priority this holiday season!

P.S. Free phone screens are below for when you are just “checking” the time during your detox. 😉

Tis’ the season. Get in the spirit with new lock screens for your phone!
